| Working in the ICU and really liking it. Placed my first central line the other day and it turned out okay.
2 things I need in my career in med: Patients and procedures. I think cardiology gives me the best of both worlds, and that's why I want to be a cardiologist when I grow up.
I hope I don't change my mind again, but for now, I think I'm sure.

| This summer was a blast! I just finished my surgery and ob/gyn rotation and thought that it was the funnest thing i've ever done. I was pretty set on being a cardiologist, but am not so sure anymore. Nothing beats the adrenaline of a level 1 trauma case..
But you know, I've noticed a change in me. The more I progress through med school, the more intrigued I've become of money, reputation, and lifestyle. It's hard to untangle the myths that you buy into when everything around you is anti-god.

On a brighter note.. I just completed Metroid Prime Corruption and think it's the best console fps out there. Halo 3 is pretty sweet but Metroid's control scheme is smoother and more intuitive. I sound like a geek when I talk about video games, but nothing makes me happier than being a fanboy for mario, link, samus, snake, and master chief. If it wasn't a sin, I think I would play video games 24/7.

| Tiger is leading the PGA championship after 54 holes. Hand him the trophy. It's a done deal. Now I have a question. Why does the asian side of Tiger never get any credit for his accomplishments. He's always reported as being "the first black golfer to.." or "the first African-American to" do what he does. I'm not into asian pride, or anything close to it, but Tiger is just as asian as he is black. KJ Choi always says he wants to be the first asian to win a major. But I'd contend that it's already been done by a guy named Tiger Woods. | | |
| Call sucks! I'm doing overnight call for vascular surgery. I'd rather be home, seeing that it's Friday night and quiet at the hospital. Surgery is awesome, but the hours are brutal. I'd do surgery 100% if I didn't have to give my life away. Poor residents walk around with their eyes closed, coffee in one hand, list in the other; eye booger and unclipped nose hair a definite prerequisite for entrance into the hospital. I look around this joint, and all the residents are either bald or balding. I sure hope that I don't succumb to this fate, as my handsomeness would take a serious setback without my thick, spongy hair. I'd look utterly fugly as a baldy, as my head is supremely big and rectangular in shape. I need to calm down. Now back to work. | | |
